Navratri Vrat Recipe

Vrat usually does people often in IndiaThere are lots of festivals having vrat tradition.

These festivals are Navratri, Mahashivratri, Chaturthi, Ekdashi, Mahashivratri, Krishna Janmashtmi, etc.

During these festivals, most people have vrat to seek blessings and to show gratitude towards deitiesSome want to experience holly environment and that’s why they avoid garlic and onion consumption.

Along with this, there are various types of vrat ka khana like sabudana khichdi, sabudana kheer, aloo halwa, etc.

In this recipe, sabudana is the main ingredientKuttu, Rajgira, Makhana, Potato, Sam Chawal, Singhara, Sweet Potato, Bhagar or Variche Tandul or Sama ke chawal or Barnyard Millet, Milk, Fruits, etc.

With these recipes you can serve curd or yogurt or dahi, chach, peanuts amti, tamarind amti, lemon, etc.

 

  1. Sabudana Khichdi-

In Sabudana khichdi tapioca pearls are the main ingredientsThere are various ways to make this recipe according to various regions in India.

 2Sabudana Vada-

This is another tasty recipe you can make from sagoYou can dry fry the vadas or swallow fry them as you likeBut I prefer to swallow fry itIt tastes very delicious yet less oily.

Ingredients-

  1. Sabudana – 2 cups (soaked)
  2. Potato – 1 (boiled)
  3. Oil – 1 cup
  4. Salt or Rock Salt/Sendha namak -1 teaspoon (as you need)
  5. Green Chili – 3 to 4 (chopped)
  6. Peanuts- 1 cup (grind)
  7. Cumin Seeds or Jeera – 1 teaspoon
  8. Lemon Juice – 1 teaspoon

Process-

  1. Take 2 cups of sago pearls in a bowl and soak for 2 hoursIt also depends on the quality of sabudana.
  2. Boiled 1 potato and remove the outer cover and mashed it.
  3. Take a bowl to add soaked sabudana, mashed potato, peanuts, cumin seeds, chopped green chili, lemon juice and saltMix very well.
  4. Take some portion of the mixture in your palm make vada from it.
  5. Heat a pan add 1 teaspoon of oil and place the vadaYou can also deep fry them instead of swallow fry.
  6. Allow it to cook for 1 minute on low flame or flip over itFry it till golden brownThen remove it from pan.
  7. Like this make other vadas and serve with curd or chach or raita or as you like.

  1. Samvat Rice Khichdi-

This is also called as bhagar or variche tandul or sam ke chawalThere are two variations like sweet or spicyYou can make as you likeThis is also called as Samvat Pulao.

 

Ingredients –

  1. Bhagar – 1 cup
  2. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  3. Peanuts – ½ cup (slight ground)
  4. Potato – 1 (boiled or grated or chopped)
  5. Salt or rocked salt (Sendha Namak) – 1 teaspoon
  6. Oil or Ghee – 2 teaspoons
  7. Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
  8. Green Chilli – 2 to 3 (chopped)
  9. Hot Water – 1 cup
  10. Raisins – ½ cup
  11. Cashews -1/2 cup
  12. Curd – 1 cup

Process –

  1. Heat a pan add 1 teaspoon of oil, cumin seeds, green chili, red chili powder, saltMix very well.
  2. Add Potato and ground peanuts, bhagar in itMix very well on low flame for 2 minutes.
  3. Add 1 cup of hot water and allow cooking on low flame for 10 minutes.
  4. Add yogurt, raisins and the cashewsMix well and cook it on low flame till the water reduces in it.
  5. Serve the bhagar with the slice of lemon.

  1. Kuttu Khichdi-

This is known as buckwheat khichdiFrom this, you can also make pori or rotisThis is similar to sabudana khichdi and samvat khichdi.

Ingredients –

  1. Kuttu – 1 cup
  2. Green Chili – 2 (chopped)
  3. Oil – 2 teaspoon
  4. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  5. Water – 2 cups
  6. Lemon Juice – 2 teaspoons (optional)
  7. Roasted Peanuts – ½ cup (roughly grind)
  8. Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  9. Rock Salt or Sendha Namak – 1 teaspoon
  10. Potatoes – 2 (chopped in small cubes)

Process –

  1. Rinse off the buckwheat in the water and keep aside.
  2. Heat a pan add 2 teaspoons of oil and cumin seeds and salt allow it to crackle.
  3. Add chopped green chili and potatoes and sauté it well for few minutes.
  4. Add ground peanuts and kuttu in the panMix very well for 2 minutes.
  5. Add 2 cups of water and stir it with the spoon.
  6. Cover the pan and allow the buckwheat khichdi to simmer on low flame.
  7. Cook till the water is absorbed and kuttu khichdi has cooked well.
  8. Serve the kuttu ki khichdi with curd or farali chutney.

  1. Sabudana Thalipeeth-

This is very similar to sabudana vada and also the procedure to the mixture is also sameThis is also called as sabudana rotiYou can also coriander leaves in itAlso, cumin powder instead of cumin seeds as you want.

Ingredients-

  1. Sabudana – 2 cups (soaked)
  2. Potato – 1 (boiled)
  3. Oil – 1 cup
  4. Salt or Rock Salt/Sendha Namak -1 teaspoon (as you need)
  5. Green Chili – 3 to 4 (chopped)
  6. Peanuts- 1 cup (grind)
  7. Cumin Seeds or Jeera – 1 teaspoon
  8. Lemon Juice – 1 teaspoon

Process-

  1. Take 2 cups of sago pearls in a bowl and soak for 2 hoursIt also depends on the quality of sabudana.

  6. Allow it to cook for 1 minute on low flame or flip over itFry it till golden brownThen remove it from pan.
  7. Like this make other thalipeeth and serve with curd or farali chutney or as you like.

   7.  Vrat Wale Aloo-

This fasting recipe is very easier to make and does not demand much preparation.

Ingredients –

  1. Potatoes – 3 (Boiled)
  2. Green chilli – 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  3. Ajwain Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  4. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  5. Peanuts – ½ cup
  6. Oil – 2 teaspoons
  7. Rock Salt or Sendha Namak – 1 teaspoon (as required)

Procedure –

  1. Take 3 boiled potatoes, peel off them and mashed it.
  2. Heat a pan add 2 teaspoons of oil add ajwain seeds, cumin seeds, green chili, peanuts and saltSaute well for 1 minute.
  3. Add mashed potatoes in the pan and stir it well.
  4. Serve the vrat wale aloo with the lemon slice or you can squeeze the lemon juice in the pan.

  8.Singhare ke poori-

From singhare you can make various recipes like halwa, paratha, etcThis singhare atta is easily available in the stores in India.

Ingredients –

  1. Singhare Atta – 2 cups
  2. Green Chili – 1 to 2 (chopped)
  3. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Oil – 2 cup
  5. Cumin Seeds -1 teaspoon
  6. Mashed Potatoes – 2
  7. Water – 1 cup

Procedure-

  1. Take 2 boiled potatoes, peeled off them and mashed it.
  2. Add 2 cups of singhare flour, cumin seeds, rocked salt, green chilli and oilMix very well
  3. Add water slowly and knead doughMake small balls from the dough.
  4. Sprinkle flour on the rolling board and place the small ball on it.
  5. Make a small size poori with rolling pin.
  6. Heat a pan add oil in itFry the pooris until golden brown.
  7. Serve the pooris with jeera aloo or vrat wale aloo.

 9.Kuttu ki poori-

Kuttu ki puri can be made plain just with the buckwheat flour or in combination with mashed potatoes.

Ingredients –

  1. Buckwheat flour – 2 cups
  2. Cumin Seeds – 2 teaspoons
  3. Hot Boiling Water – 1 cup
  4. Oil – 2 cups (for deep frying)
  5. Rock Salt or Sendha Namak or Salt – 1 teaspoon (as you need)

Process-

  1. Take a mixing bowl or plate or parat add kuttu atta in it.
  2. Add 2 teaspoons of cumin seeds and 1 teaspoon of rock saltMix very well.
  3. Add 2 cups of hot boiling waterMix it wellCover the pan and keep aside till the mixture cools down.
  4. Knead a dough you can add more warm water if the dough looks dryThe dough should be nonsticky and smooth.
  5. Make small balls from it and grease with oil and roll it thick.
  6. Heat a pan or kadhai add oil and fry the puri until turns golden brown.
  7. Serve the pooris with dahi arbi or dahi.

10.Paneer kofta-

This recipe mainly needs grated paneer, boiled potatoes and some dry fruits.

Ingredients –

  1. Paneer (Cottage Cheese) – 2 cups (grated)
  2. Potatoes – 3 (Boiled and Peeled)
  3. Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  4. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  5. Almonds Powder – 1 teaspoon
  6. Cashews Powder – 1 teaspoon
  7. Pistachios Powder – 1 teaspoon
  8. Raisins – ½ cup

Procedure –

  1. Take a mixing bowl to add grated paneer, mashed potatoes, red chili powder, rock salt, almonds powder, cashews powder, pistachios powderMix very well
  2. Knead a dough and make small balls from it.
  3. Take a small ball, put raisins in the middle of the ball and cover itAgain make it spherical round shape and slightly flattened itLike this make other paneer koftas.
  4. Heat a pan add oil and fry the paneer kofta until golden brown.
  5. Serve paneer kofta with sweet chutney.

11.Dahi aloo-

This recipe is similar to a kadhiJust that there are potatoes added which makes some differenceThis also goes very well with jeera rice.

Ingredients –

  1. Curd – 1 cup
  2. Potatoes – 2 (boil & peel)
  3. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Water – 1 cup
  5. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  6. Red chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  7. Oil or Ghee – 2 teaspoons

Procedure –

  1. Take 2 boiled potatoes and peeled off themCrumble the potatoes with your hands.
  2. Take a bowl add 1 cup of curd and whisk it well till smooth.
  3. Heat a pan to add oil in itAdd cumin seeds then add crumble potatoes in itSaute it.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, rock saltStir well and sauté it for a minute.
  5. Add beaten dahi and mix very well.
  6. Add 1 cup of water as requiredAgain stir it well.
  7. Simmer till the dahi aloo gravy thickensKeep on stirring in between.
  8. Serve the dahi aloo with kuttu poori or sabudana thalipeeth.

12.Dahi arbi –

Arbi is known as Colocasia or taro roots in EnglishThis recipe can also be made without yogurt and still tastes good.

Ingredients –

  1. Arbi or Colocasia – 250 grams
  2. Yogurt – ½ cup
  3. Carom Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  4. Red Chili Powder- 1 teaspoon
  5. Oil – 2 teaspoons
  6. Rocked Salt or Regular Salt – 1 teaspoon (as required)
  7. Water – 2 cups

Procedure –

  1. Washed the arbi, peel off and cut it as you like.
  2. Soaked them in salted water for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat a cooker add oil, carom seeds, red chili powder, rocked saltMix very well.
  4. Rinse off the arbi and add to the cookerSaute it for 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Add ½ cup of yogurt and mix it well.
  6. Add water in it and allow to cook for 4 to 5 whistles.
  7. Serve the dahi arbi with singhare poori or as you like.

13.Vrat ki kadhi-

Amarnath flour is added instead of besan which we use in regular kadhisThis will goes very well as a side dish with kuttu puri or singhare puri.

Ingredients –

  1. Curd – 1 cup
  2. Amarnath flour or Rajgira Atta – 3 tablespoon
  3. Oil or Ghee – 2 teaspoons
  4. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  5. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  6. Water – ½ cup
  7. Green Chili – 2 to 3 (finely chopped)

Process –

  1. Take 1 cup of curd in a mixing bowl and whisk it well.
  2. Add 3 tablespoon of rajgira flour and mix very well again.
  3. Add ½ cup of water and whisk it againMake sure there should be no lumps.
  4. In a pan heat 2 teaspoons of oil or ghee and add cumin seeds.
  5. Add chopped green chili and allow it for 1 minute.
  6. Add rock salt and pour the whisked mixture in the pan.
  7. Add sugar in it as you like and allow the kadhi to simmer for 3 to 4 minutesStir it occasionallyMaintain the consistency adding water with tablespoons.
  8. Serve the kadhi with kuttu khichdi or parathas or as you like.

14.Arbi Masala-

This recipe is also known as sukhi arbi or masala arbi or brindavani ghuiya.

Ingredients –

  1. Arbi or Taro Roots – 250 grams
  2. Carom Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  3. Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  4. Dried Mango Powder or Amchoor – 1 teaspoon
  5. Oil – 2 teaspoon
  6. Rocked Salt – 1 teaspoon
  7. Water – 2 cups (as you required)

Process-

  1. Boiled the arbi till it is easily mashed with hands.
  2. Boil and peel off the arbi and mashed it.
  3. Shallow fry the arbi on medium flameRemove it from the pan.
  4. Heat a pan add 1 teaspoon of oil, carom seeds, red chili powder and saltSaute it.
  5. Add fried arbi in the masala mixture and add mango powderMix it well.
  6. Serve the sukhi arbi as a snack.

15.Jeera aloo-

This is one of the simple, easy and quick to prepareThis recipe can be made in less time.

Ingredients-

  1. Potatoes -3 to 4 (boiled and peeled)
  2. Cumin Seeds – 2 teaspoon
  3. Rocked Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Green Chili – 2 to 3 (finely chopped)
  5. Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  6. Lemon Juice – 2 teaspoons
  7. Coriander leaves – ½ cup (finely chopped) (optional)

Process –

  1. Heat a pan add 2 teaspoons of oil.
  2. Add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle.
  3. Add green chili and sauté it.
  4. Add mashed potatoes, red chili powder, rock saltMix very well.
  5. Allow it to cook on low flame for 2 minutes.
  6. Add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and coriander leaves.
  7. Mix the mixture very wellTurn off the flameServe as you like.

16.Samvat Sweet Pulao-

This is the sweet version of sama ke chawalThis is also made as a dessert or sweet dish for fasting vratThe process is similar to samvat khichdiBut you have to make some minor changes in the recipe.

Ingredients –

  1. Bhagar – 1 cup (Rinse off in water)
  2. Ghee – 2 teaspoons
  3. Hot Water – 1 cup
  4. Raisins – ½ cup
  5. Cashews -1/2 cup
  6. Sugar – ½ cup
  7. Cardamom Powder – 2 teaspoon
  8. Milk – ½ cup
  9. Almonds- ½ cup (chopped)

Process –

  1. Heat a pan add 2 teaspoons of gheeYou can add more if you want to add more ghee.
  2. Add 2 teaspoons cardamom powder add samvat chawal in it.
  3. Stir it for 5 minutes on low flame.
  4. Add 1 cup hot water in itAllow cooking on low flame for 10 minutes.
  5. Add ½ cup of sugar and ½ cup of milk, raisins, cashewsMix very well and cook it on low flame till the water reduces.
  6. Serve the bhagar with chopped almonds.

17.Kuttu ka Paratha-

Kuttu ka Atta is used in making many recipes during fasting days like kuttu ki pooris, halwa, pakoras, dosa or you can use it as a binding agent to make tikkis.

Ingredients –

  1. Kuttu ka atta or buckwheat flour – 2 cups
  2. Medium size potato – 1 (boiled & mashed)
  3. Warm water – ½ cup
  4. Green Chilli – 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  5. Oil or Ghee – ½ cup
  6. Rock Salt (Sendha Namak) – 2 teaspoons (as you require)

Procedure-

  1. Take a mixing bowl to add boiled & mashed potatoes, rock salt, and chopped green chilliMix very well.
  2. Add 2 cups of kuttu ka atta and 3 to 4 teaspoon of waterMix very wellKnead dough adding more water.
  3. Make small balls from the dough and on a moist cloth sprinkle some flour.
  4. Place the ball on the cloth and fold dough ball with the cloth.
  5. Make round shape from it with rolling pin and remove the folded cloth.
  6. Heat pan sprinkle oil on it and place the paratha.
  7. Flip over the paratha and roast it till golden brown patches appear on it.
  8. Remove the roti from the pan and serve as you like or with vrat wale aloo or jeera aloo.

18.Vrat ka uttapam-

This is also known as Falahari UttapamThese are mini uttapams as the batter does not spread on the pan.

Ingredients –

  1. Swang Chawal Atta or Barnyard Millet Flour – 1 cup
  2. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  3. Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  4. Water – 1 cup (as required)
  5. Green Chilli – 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  6. Coriander Leaves – ½ cup (finely chopped) (optional)

Process –

  1. Make a thick flowing batter with sama ka atta, cumin seeds, salt and water.
  2. Heat a tava or griddleSpread some oilMake a round shaped pancake.
  3. Immediately spread chopped green chilli and coriander over it.
  4. When the base is cooked flip over it.
  5. When the uttapam slight golden brown then removes it from the pan.
  6. Serve the falahari uttapam with curd or falahari chutney.

19. Rajgira paratha-

They are very healthy and can be made on regular days as tiffin box snacksThis is similar to rajgira roti.

Ingredients –

  1. Amaranath or Rajgira flour – 1 cup
  2. Medium sized potatoes – 1 (Boiled and mashed)
  3. Cumin powder or jeera powder – 2 teaspoons
  4. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  5. Green Chilli – 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  6. Oil or Ghee – ½ cup
  7. Water – ½ cup (as required)

Procedure –

  1. Take a bowl to add rajgira flour, mashed potatoes, cumin powder, green chilli and saltMix very well.
  2. Knead doughIf you are not able to knead the dough add water or curd in it.
  3. Make small sized balls and slightly flattened it and make round shape roti sized paratha.
  4. Heat a panSpread oil or ghee on itPlace the paratha on it.
  5. Flip over the paratha roast it till golden brown.
  6. Serve the parathas with curd or falahari chutney.

20. Rajgira poori –

This recipe is very similar to rajgira paratha or roti.

Ingredients –

  1. Amaranath or Rajgira flour – 1 cup
  2. Medium sized potatoes – 1 (Boiled and mashed)
  3. Cumin powder or jeera powder – 2 teaspoons
  4. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  5. Green Chilli – 3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  6. Oil or Ghee – ½ cup
  7. Water – ½ cup (as required)

Procedure –

  1. Take a bowl to add rajgira flour, mashed potatoes, cumin powder, green chilli and saltMix very well.
  2. Knead doughIf you are not able to knead the dough add water or curd in it.
  3. Make small sized balls and slightly flattened it and make round shape roti sized puri.
  4. Heat a panAdd oil or ghee in it.
  5. Fry the puris until golden brown from both sides.
  6. Serve the pooris with curd or falahari chutney.

21.Sabudana Tikki-

This is pan fried thin patties made with sago pearls, potatoes and minimal spices.

Ingredients –

  1. Sabudana – 1 cup (soaked)
  2. Medium sized Potatoes – 2 (Boiled, Peeled and Mashed)
  3. Green Chilli – 2 to 3 (chopped)
  4. Peanuts – ½ cup (slightly grated)
  5. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  6. Cumin Powder or Cumin Seeds – 1 teaspoon
  7. Oil – ½ cup
  8. Raisins – ½ cup
  9. Cashews – ½ cup
  10. Lemon Juice – 2 teaspoons (as required)

Process –

  1. Take a mixing bowl to add soaked sabudana, mashed potatoes, green chilli, peanuts, cumin powder, rock salt, cashews, raisinsMix very well.
  2. Add lemon juice knead a doughMake small balls from it and slightly flattened it.
  3. Heat a panSpread oil over itPlace the tikkis in itFlip over them.
  4. Allow them to cook until golden brown.
  5. Serve the hot sabudana tikki with tamarind chutney or dahi.

22.Sabudana pakoda-

These are very easy to make and you can make for a nice breakfast or evening snacks.

Ingredients –

  1. Sabudana -1 cup (soaked)
  2. Cumin Seeds- 1 teaspoon
  3. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Green Chilli -3 to 4 (finely chopped)
  5. Peanuts –1/2 cup (roasted and crushed)
  6. Kuttu ka Atta -1/2 cup (optional)
  7. Potato – 1 (Boiled, peeled and mashed)
  8. Sugar – 1 teaspoon

Procedure –

  1. Take a bowl to add soaked sabudana, mashed potato, crushed peanuts, green chili, salt, cumin seeds, sugar, kuttu ka atta.
  2. Mix very wellMake small balls from the dough.
  3. Heats a pan adds oil and fry the sabudana ballsFry them till golden brown.
  4. Serve sabudana pakora with falahari chutney.

23.Sabudana Chivda-

For this recipe, you will require nylon pearls because sabudana pearls won’t work.

Ingredients –

  1. Nylon Sabudana – ½ cup
  2. Raisins – ½ cup
  3. Cashews – ½ cup
  4. Oil – 1 cup
  5. Powdered Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  6. Red Chilli Powder – 1 teaspoon
  7. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  8. Peanuts – ½ cup

Process-

  1. Heat a panAdd oil in it for deep frying.
  2. Fry the nylon pearls, peanuts, cashews and raisins one one.
  3. Take a bowl to add these fried ingredients then add red chili powder, sugar and salt.
  4. Mix very well and serve as you like.

24.Sabudana Bhel

During fasting days you can have this snack during breakfast or as an evening snack.

Ingredients –

  1. Sabudana – 1 cup (soaked)
  2. Potato – 1 (boiled and mashed)
  3. Red Chili Powder – 2 to 3
  4. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  5. Peanuts – ½ cup
  6. Oil – 2 teaspoons
  7. Cashews – ½ cup
  8. Lemon Juice – 2 teaspoon

Process –

  1. Heat a pan add oil and sabudana pearls and sauté it well.
  2. Add roasted peanuts, cashews, potato, red chili powder, salt, lemon juiceMix very well.
  3. Serve it warm.

25.Roasted Makhana-

Makhana is also known as lotus seeds or Phool Makhana or Foxnuts.

Ingredients –

  1. Makhana – 3 cups
  2. Turmeric Powder – 1 teaspoon
  3. Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon
  4. Oil or Ghee – 2 teaspoon
  5. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  6. Chaat Masala – 1 teaspoon

Process –

  1. Heat oil in a pan adds makhana and roasted it for 10 minutes.
  2. Turn off the flame add turmeric powder and red chili powder and rock saltMix very well.
  3. Store the roasted makhana in airtight container.

26.Sweet Potato Chaat-

This is also called as Shakarkandi Chaat.

Ingredients –

  1. Sweet Potato – 250 grams
  2. Black Pepper Powder – 1 teaspoon
  3. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Amchur Powder – 1 teaspoon
  5. Lemon Juice – 1 teaspoon

Process-

  1. Boiled the sweet potatoes, peeled off and chop them.
  2. Add black pepper powder, amchur powder, rock salt and lemon juiceMix very well.

  2. Knead doughMake small balls and slightly flattened.
  3. Heat a oil in a pan add arbi tikki and roast it till golden brown.
  4. Serve the arbi tikki with falahari chutney.

  1. Strawberries – 1 cup
  2. Blackberries – 1cup
  3. Kiwi – 1 cup

  6. Grapefruits – 1cup
  7. Banana – 1 cup
  8. Mango – 1 cup
  9. Chickoos (Sapota) – 2 cup
  10. Papaya – 1 cup
  11. Cashews – ½ cup
  12. Almonds – 1/2 cup
  13. Walnut – ½ cup

Process –

  1. Peel and chop mangoes, oranges, kiwi, strawberries, Black berries, banana, chickoos, grapefruits, papaya into bit sized pieces.
  2. Add everything in a large bowlMix the fruits well.
  3. Add roasted dry fruits on the top of the fruits.
  4. Garnish the fruit salad with mint leaves and serve as you like.

  5. Pomegranate seeds – ½ cup
  6. Potato Sev – ½ cup
  7. Tamarind chutney – 2 teaspoon
  8. Curd – ½ cup
  9. Oil – 1 teaspoon
  10. Cumin Powder or jeera powder – 1 teaspoon

Process –

  1. Heat a oil in a pan roast cube sized potatoes till golden brown.
  2. Take a large bowl to add roast potatoes, red chili powder, salt, chaat masala, cumin powder, tamarind chutney, curd, pomegranate seedsMix very well.
  3. Garnish with potato sev.

  4. Serve the koftas with coconut chutney.

Potato finger chips are similar to French fries.

Ingredients –

  1. Large Potatoes – 2
  2. Cold Water – 4 cups
  3. Oil – 2 cups
  4. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  5. Red Chili Powder – 1 teaspoon

Process –

  1. Take large potatoes, peel off and make slices in sticks as well.
  2. Rinse off the potatoes sticks in the waterTake a bowl to add 4 cups of water and dunk potato sticks in it for 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. Drain the water and again rinse off them in the running water and place the potato finger on the cotton napkinDried the potato fingers complete before frying.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry the potato fingers.
  5. Serve the potato chips with sauce or tamarind chutney or as you like.
  6. Farali pattice – This is similar to aloo tikki but it has stuffing of peanuts, cashews, raisins, etc.

Ingredients –

  2. Arrow Root Powder –1/2 cup
  3. Rock Salt – 1 teaspoon
  4. Grated coconut – ½ cup
  5. Roasted Peanuts – ½ cup (ground)
  6. Roasted Cashews – ½ cup (ground)
  7. Raisins – ½ cup
  8. Sugar – 1 teaspoon
  9. Green chilli paste – 1 teaspoon
  10. Rock salt – 1 teaspoon
  11. Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
  12. Oil – ½ cup

Process –

  1. Take a bowl adds mashed potatoes and arrow root powder, rock salt and knead dough.
  2. Take a mixing bowl add grated coconut, peanuts, cashews, raisins, green chili, salt, lemon juice, sugarMix very well.
  3. Make a small ball from dough and slightle flattened it.
  4. Place the stuffing in the middle and again close it and flattened it.
  5. Heat a oil in a pan and roast the farali pattice till golden brown.
  6. Serve the farali pattice with chutney or sauce.

  5. Fry them till golden brown and remove the pakoras from the pan.
